In his position as a Director of Black Oak Associates, Jay is involved in business development, strategic planning, capital formation and finance.

Jay brings over three decades of experience in real estate and finance to Black Oak. Griswold currently serves as Senior Advisor and Director of Brown Advisory.

Jay joined Alex Brown and Sons, Inc. in 1969.  He became a partner in 1974, concentrating on domestic and international securities sales.  In 1984, he was named Chairman of Alex Brown Realty Advisors and its successor company Alex Brown / Kleinwort Benson Realty Advisors, an advisory company investing pension fund monies in direct real estate.

Currently, Jay serves as Chairman of the Washington College Board of Visitors and Governors, as Trustee of the Living Classrooms Foundation, as President Emeritus of the Maryland Historical Society, and as a member of the Board of Chevy Chase Bank. Jay received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his BA from Princeton University.
