Black Oak completed an investment in the Elizabeth Lake mitigation bank in 2016. The property is comprised of over 300 acres and is located in Los Angeles County, California. Mitigation banks are a market based solution that enable the restoration and protection of large tracts of environmentally valuable lands. Developers are required by law to offset impacts to environmental resources caused by construction. These offsets, or mitigation, must be made by a developer in order to obtain permits.Black Oak’s principals have over twenty years of combined experience in the mitigation banking industry. Land Veritas, who originally acquired and developed the project, continues to own and manage the property as Black Oak’s partner.
